Developed by the UK RECLAIM Network and the Global Centre for Clean Air Research, a new Urban Greening Toolkit gives insight into the hands-on urban-greening process and presents research as achievable strategies for councils and LAGs.
The pamphlet tackles seven key urban challenges − from air pollution and biodiversity to flooding and health.
Practical examples include:
* Roadside hedges reducing air pollution over 60 per cent;
* Parks and trees cooling cities by up to 8°C;
* Rain gardens mitigating flood risk; and
*Wildflower meadows supporting biodiversity and pollinators.
