The only way is up: all the colour from the QTCC

Just a few random images to give an idea of what a fantastic weekend it was at the Mount Tambourine Showgrounds, and what a credit to the QAA, the sponsors, the competitors, and of course, the volunteers.

It was a brilliant weekend, and the demonstration climb by Barton Allen-Hall was a highlight matched only by his amazing composure when swooped repeatedly by Mount Tambourine’s most aggressive and persistent magpie. Clinging to the slender branches at very top of the climb, he managed to outlast the protective black-and-white marauder (whose nest turned out to be beyond the far end of the footy field, and nowhere near the competition arena).

A huge thanks from The Australian Arbor Age magazine to the QAA for inviting us along, and to all the fabulous people who made it such an incredible experience.

See the QAA story in the October/November issue of The Australian Arbor Age for the results and competition rundown. Meanwhile, he’s a glimpse of how things went…
