QAA – actively representing and promoting the development of professional arboricultural standards; the lead industry body supporting the tree care profession in Queensland and Northern NSW since 1992.

QAA’s 2018 Executive Team continues to ensure our association is easily recognisable as the lead industry and professional representative body of all aspects of arboriculture in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

QAA’s Executive Members have had an extremely busy year so far. We have been finalising the 2018-2019 Sponsorship Package, including welcoming new and returning Sponsorship support. Members now have access to an exciting range of product services and discounts, from banking to vehicles, chainsaws to chippers, insurance, web pages and much more! Technical Officer, Paul Javé continues to lead a dynamic, high demand, Workshop Training Programme.

Queensland Tree Climbing Competition (QTCC)

Please note: The Queensland Tree Climbing Championships (QTCC) is to be held the weekend of October 6th and 7th at Green Park 1156 Maleny, Kenilworth Road, Elaman Creek, QLD. Don’t miss this opportunity to see aspiring and experienced climbers compete in this year’s QTCC.

The QAA Executive looks forward to hosting this year’s event. Competitors and spectators are assured of keen competition and legendary comradery once again.

Always abuzz with interest, this much-loved event is a wow spectacle for visitors and competitors alike and this year is shaping to be one of our best yet. Competitors, supporters and onlookers can be assured of an amazing day out at this wonderful venue. Keep up with QTCC news, results, photos and clips on QAA’s Facebook page.

Volunteers are needed! As the saying goes, many hands make light work!! Please contact the QAA office or one of the Executive Committee to offer your help. Our volunteers are vital to the overall success of this competition event. Your contribution with setup, take down, judging, manning of tents and more will ensure that this event is enjoyable for everyone in attendance.

Entries for QTCC 2018 close Friday 28th September 2018. Call out to our Climbing Members to compete in QTCC! Further information can be found on the QAA webpage or via the app.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) QAA Members are warmly invited to attend QAA’s upcoming AGM on Tuesday 23rd of October, 2018 at Cleveland Headquarters. Welcome refreshments will commence at 5pm for a prompt 5.30pm start.

Nominations for QAA 2018-2019 Office Bearers are now open. To nominate, please contact the QAA Office for further information.

Formalities at the AGM will include the election of all QAA Office Bearers for 2018-2019 and presentation of reports. QAA President, Roger Rankine will update Members on this very busy year and QAA’s Technical Officer, Paul Javé will deliver the Technical Officer’s Report and industry news!

Gain new skills, new friends and new contacts both locally in Queensland as well as across Australia and beyond. Please, raise your hand if you would like to volunteer for a Subcommittee or if you would like to know more about how the Executive of your Association works. Be assured your contribution will be valued. There is much to gain from participating in conjunction with the Executive Committee.

QAA App is Launched!

Available to download in both the Google Play Store and in the Apple iTunes Store– just search for QAA Member to access your account with a click of a button via phones, tablets, laptops and desktops! Use this App to enrol in a course, update your Member details, take up special offers from our Sponsors and much more.

Members are encouraged to contact QAA Office if experiencing any difficulties installing their App or navigating the site.

Expressions of Interest

Following a well-attended Workshop Programme this year, submissions and suggestions are now welcome for QAA’s 2019 Workshop Training Programme. A reminder that current QAA Members are eligible for discounted rates.

Workshop bookings can be made by logging in through QAA’s App or Webpage ‘Member Portal’ www.qaa.net.au. Early bookings are a must to avoid missing out on a place!
