For 100 years, STIHL has been developing tools that make working in nature easier. It all began when Andreas Stihl built the world’s first portable chainsaw, revolutionising the forestry industry. And by 1971, STIHL had become the best-selling petrol chainsaw manufacturer worldwide. STIHL has continued to invest in research and development ever since, and built tools that are powerful, lightweight and reliable.
Now, as STIHL celebrates its 100th anniversary throughout 2026, the company will be sharing some special plans, including a limited-edition MS 500i chainsaw and exclusive fan competitions.
Join STIHL as it looks back on a century of innovation and ahead to an exciting future.
